is it yellow pages time for you?
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 5:38PM A few of my clients have asked me what to do with respect to their Yellow Pages and Yell.Com advertising as it's due for renewal.
First of all establish the following:
- What data have you got to show the number and type of enquiries you've had during the last 12 months?
- What type of enquiries did you receive?
- Where you able to convert the enquiries to sales - if not this may be due to a mismatch of the perception of your offering, where it was positioned and/or copywriting v the reality of your offering. It could also be a result of poor call/contact handling
- Did the resulting business more than pay for the advertising? Consider customer lifetime value
- Do you believe that the amount paid for the advertising is the best use of your marketing spend; or are there better alternatives?
- To help evaluate no 5 consider your customer profile and their research and purchasing habits
