Google+ advances fast

Google's Google+ social networking service has more than doubled since last October. Though Google+ still has to go some to catch up with Facebook's 800m active users.

It's more about share of internet time for Google. As Facebook steals so much of it - an addictive habit for many. You know who you are!

Google+ is worth looking into both as a business networking tool and as an influencer in Google search engine results [serps].

Groupon holds a huge database of opt in email subscribers. 000's of deal hungry prospects waiting to devour the latest deals.

If you decide to take advantage of the reach that Groupon has you must think about the best and worst case scenario.

Move away from what the Groupon reps are telling you and put your business head back on.

Most businesses use Groupon to kick start a new business or revive poor sales. Few profit from the offer. Groupon take a big chunk of the turnover. The premise is that the value is in the repeat business element of this type of marketing.

If so, what are your plans for follow up with your now found customers?

Google Offers - Small Businesses Take Note

Google failed to buy Groupon

but it wants a slice of the action.

If you don't already know Groupon and the likes of Living Social have swiftly built up communities and valuable email opt in lists of deal hungry subscribers.

Google are keen to build relationships with local small businesses and this is perhaps their most compelling new initiative yet.

Outline details show little risk to the small business for potential mass but targeted reach.

Dream up some creative offers and Google will do the rest.

It's in beta at the moment.

Google have introduced Google Instant Preview

If you have Google Instant switched on for faster searching then you'll have noticed the magnifying glass.

By hovering over the magnifying glass that sits next to your webite's search result the user can view the page of your website without actually clicking through to it.

How will Google Instant Previews affect how many clickthroughs/visitors you get from Google?

If you have a text only website, particularly one with 'walls' of text you could be in trouble. How appealing will this look, reduced and through the Google Instant Preview tool? In addition this is not the best way to write for the web.
